The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the 'Responsible Person' to have a fire risk assessment undertaken. This assessment must be 'suitable and sufficient'.

A fire risk assessment fundamentally follows the 5 step approach

  1. Identify the fire hazards.
  2. Identify people at risk.
  3. Evaluate, remove or reduce the risks.
  4. Record your findings, prepare an emergency plan and provide training.
  5. Review and update the fire risk assessment regularly.

The fire risk assessment is not just a physical examination, hazards, people, systems and policies are among some areas assessed.

AL Safety Services will follow the industry standard PAS:79 to undertake the fire risk assessment.
